Intern
Interns at CWEALF help to promote our mission by participating in a number of programs and activities. Internships are available during the school year and in the summer. Most internships are unpaid and require a commitment of at least 10 hours per week.
Interns at CWEALF have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including: Development & Fundraising, Legal Education, Public Policy & Advocacy, Research & Evaluation, Public Relations & Outreach, and Event Planning. Interns are assigned projects depending on their skills and interests, their program requirements, and CWEALF priority activities. In addition to specific projects, interns assist with general office work such as correspondence, data entry, helping with mailings and other work as necessary.
Additionally, CWEALF offers two paid internships for four months every spring. The Ruth Pulda Law & Policy Intern assists with CWEALF's legislative and policy work related to family and employment law and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights. The Merrilee Milstein Policy & Organizing Intern assists with CWEALF's advocacy and community organizing on workforce development issues. For complete job descriptions, visit the announcements section of CWEALF's website.
CWEALF interns should have strong communication, writing and computer skills. Interns are expected to demonstrate general work-related skills such as punctuality, responsibility, and thoroughness.
